 Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. Hooker!

    Announcements

We started our opinion writing unit this week and the class wrote this letter to share with you.

Dear Families,

We love the book Bad Kitty! The kitty does lots of funny things. She was nice, then bad, then nice, and at the end she didn't want to share her food.

Love,

Mrs. Hooker’s Class

Thank you for sending appropriate outerwear for your child through our snowy season. As the snow melts, you may want to send an extra pair of gloves/mittens and socks in case they get wet.

Thank you for all of your support!

Your child's week with Mrs. Hooker!

    Announcements

The last set of sight words will come home Tuesday! Please continue to practice the sight word flash cards often at home with your child. This helps build those foundational reading skills in our early learners. All 56 sight words will be assessed at the end of the second trimester. Your child will also bring home their glow and grow goals and information on the reading behaviors they are developing.

This week we enjoyed meeting in daily reading groups to explore books at each students reading level.

Our 100th Day of School is February 16th! We will have fun centers at the end of the day focusing on the number 100. In addition to this, coming home Monday will be a letter about out 100th Day Project! Students and families are encouraged to choose a collection at home that they can count 100 of (100 pencils, 100 cotton balls, 100 markers, etc.). We are excited to see projects returned to school on February 16th to be displayed! Stay tuned for additional information coming home Monday with your child!
